Day 1: Rapid City to Las Vegas
Today we fly from Rapid City Regional Airport direct to Las Vegas aboard Allegiant Airlines flight arriving Las Vegas mid evening. Transfer to the hotel for overnight.
Overnight Las Vegas.

Day 2: Las Vegas – Hoover Dam Tour – Las Vegas (80 miles round trip)
At 10am we depart our hotel for the 35 mile drive to the Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam is a testimony to a country's ability to construct monolithic projects in the midst of adverse conditions. Built during the Depression; thousands of men and their families came to Black Canyon to tame the Colorado River. It took less than five years, in a harsh and barren land, to build the largest dam of its time. Now, years later, Hoover Dam still stands as a world-renowned structure. The Dam is a National Historic Landmark and has been rated by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of America's Seven Modern Civil Engineering Wonders. An in depth tour of the Hoover Dam is included today before we return to Las Vegas.
Overnight Las Vegas – Breakfast included

Day 3 & 4: Las Vegas to Grand Canyon Area via the Hoover Dam Bridge (276 miles)
This morning it’s time to pack our bags and head for The Grand Canyon. Our route takes us on Highway 93 passing Henderson & Boulder City. As we continue our journey we cross the new Colorado River Bridge which is the central portion of the Hoover Dam Bypass Project. Construction on the nearly 2,000 foot long bridge (with a 1,060 foot twin-rib concrete arch) began in late January 2005 and traffic began using the Hoover Dam Bypass on October 19, 2010.  This signature bridge spans the Black Canyon (about 1,500 feet south of the Hoover Dam), connecting the Arizona and Nevada Approach highways nearly 900-feet above the Colorado River. Continuing on to the South Rim area of the Grand Canyon arriving late afternoon.
Overnight Grand Canyon area – Breakfast included – 2 nights

Day 5 & 6: Morning Tour of Grand Canyon area – Grand Canyon to Sedona (110 miles)
A morning of exploration and amazing views of The South Rim of the Grand Canyon.  The South Rim attracts over 5 million visitors each year and by far is the most visited side of the Canyon. That's because it is the most accessible and provides the most amenities. As with all sides of the Canyon, the South Rim features astounding views of what took Mother Nature millions and millions of years to create. That why it has earned the distinction as one of the world's Seven Wonders. After lunch, our journey continues to the City of Sedona, Arizona. Sedona is known as ‘The Red Rock City for its stunning red buttes & monoliths as well as its surrounding lush forests.

Overnight Sedona – Breakfast included - 2 nights
Day 7: Exploring Sedona and after lunch to Phoenix (121 miles)
This morning, we take more time to explore this amazingly picturesque area known as ‘The Red Rock City’.   Sedona began as a small, remote ranching and farming settlement in 1876 when the first permanent settler, John James Thompson, squatted in Oak Creek Canyon. By 1902, 20 families lived in the settlement and a postal station was petitioned for by Theodore Schnelbly. The petition was granted and Schnelbly named the new post office in honor of his wife, Sedona. The remote agricultural community was well-know for the quality of its fruit, especially the abundant apple orchards. But as the scenic wonders and sites of Sedona became known, tourism surpassed agriculture in economic importance. Sedona is located in both Coconino and Yavapai Counties and is completely surrounded by the Coconino National Forest. Sedona has become a center for traditional and contemporary arts and offers a variety of galleries, boutiques and specialty shops. It is an upscale retirement and tourism community, because it is the jumping off place for tours of the Red Rocks region.

Overnight Phoenix – Breakfast included
Day 8: Phoenix to Rapid City
After a leisurely morning we embark on our last day of sightseeing before we head to the airport for the return flight to Rapid City. Report to the airport by 2.30pm.
